Cometic’s Famous MLS (Multi-Layer Steel) Cylinder Head Gaskets have earned a reputation for being one of the best racing head gaskets on the market today. They are constructed with a stainless steel center with layers of viton coated embossed spring steel for even load distribution across the sealing area.
The center layer of the gasket varies in thickness to accommodate the desired total clamped head gasket thickness giving you many choices for your application.
C5330 series MLS Gaskets are for the 4.840 Bore Space Big Block Chevy (Mark IV) with a 4.540″ Cylinder Bore or smaller.
IMPORTANT NOTE ON GASKET BORE SIZE: You should choose a gasket with a bore diameter at least .010" larger than the cylinder bore, and large enough to fully clear the combustion chamber. This allows for gasket crush and helps prevent the gasket from protruding into the chamber.
