Ready to build a big cubic inch lightweight Small Block Ford? Then look no further than Dart’s Race Series Aluminum Block for the ultimate in strength and durability. 4.125 bore x 4.250 stroke yields an impressive 454 cubic inches!

  • Premium alloy: Dart Aluminum blocks are cast from RMR cast Aluminum alloy for superior strength and integrity.
  • Siamesed cylinders: Cylinders can be safely bored to 4.165” diameter. Ductile Iron sleeves and extra thick walls prevent cracking and produce excellent ring seal.
  • Steel 4-bolt main bearing caps are standard. Three center caps have splayed   outer bolts for maximum strength; rear cap uses standard one piece seal.
  • True Priority Main Oiling as it delivers oil directly into the main oil galley and feeds the main bearings before it feeds the lifter galleys. This increases the oil flow to the mains and drastically reduces the oil pressure requirements.
  • Dual crossovers allow oil flow to be metered with restrictors for roller lifter cams  and/or roller rocker arms to reduce oil flow and windage.
  • Reinforced head bolt bosses are blind tapped to prevent leaks and produce accurate torque readings. Extra thick decks prevent head gasket leaks.
  • Parts kit included (PN 32000004).

Standard 351 Windsor timing chain, timing cover, gear or belt drive can be used.
Actual deck height will be .001” – .005” taller for additional machining requirements.
Standard 351W oil pump fits correctly even with the 4 bolt front main cap.
When initially removing main caps, the caps and block should be deburred before reinstalling.
This will insure that correct main size is maintained.
Cam bearings, screw-in 1 5/16” (1.312”) freeze plugs, pipe plugs, dowels and 2 3/8” cam plug are
provided with block kit PN# 32000004.

1/2″ HEAD STUDS
Stud length in block is 1.780” (1.480” thread + .300” bullet)
You must use DART head studs with this amount of thread, bottom length and bullet. Call for correct
application.
.375” OD x .300” deep Head stud holes are blind. They do not go into the water jacket.
A sealant/anti seize must be used on the head studs. Locktite #620 is recommended.
Studs should never be torqued into the block. They should only be lightly snugged.

The cam bearings have 5 different I.D.s to fit the stock ford cam journals but common O.D.s.

Complete Cam Bearing Set 32210041

Cam bearing sets for cams with common 2.081” size on all journals are available from Dart or
Durabond # 351RHP. Block uses set screws as a fail safe for retaining cam bearings.
